Cheerleading routine and cheerleader moves
Every cheerleading team whether they cheer for a school team or they desire to go to competition will use a number of cheerleading routines full of spectacular cheerleader moves and stunts.
Most competition routines will have a floor segment routine that is full of moves such as handsprings, aerials and layouts in a coordinated choreographed arrangement. Often the routine has the cheerleaders flying and tumbling at high speeds in a multitude of directions that leave you pondering how they avoid running into one another.
Long hours of practice and coordinating routines are involved in the process of cheerleading to ensure the team is represented and the spectator involved and entertained. Practice is the key to the success of the squad as well as the routine.
Often squads will higher a professional routine choreographer to put together a routine that is unique and complex that they will use for half time shows and for competition.
When a cheerleading team goes to competition it is important and essential that they have several very unique, professional and perfected routines to bring with them. This allows them to feel comfortable changing to a different routine than anticipated if they see many of the same moves in another team’s routine.
If; however, your team performs these same moves in a more perfected manner it may be a good idea to go ahead with the routine to show the judges that you do them better.
Form the very beginning of learning your routine and your moves you should practice keeping your toes pointed, your knees straight and your feet together. This will allow the technique to become automatic in performing your moves allowing your routine to be perfected in a short amount of time. This avoids learning moves and incorporating bad techniques or habits that will then need to be corrected.
