Cheerleader outfits and cheerleading uniforms

Though many people might think that cheerleading is more of an accessory to a sport, it is a technical sport of its own and requires talent, focus and lots of energy!  Flexibility is essential for the moves required in cheerleading and for the most part cheerleaders are constantly moving their body in a rhythmic manner; some consider cheerleading as a form of dance or a form of gymnastics.  With the varied movement, motion and action it is important that the clothing moves with the individual.  Specialized cheerleader outfits and cheerleading uniforms are essential.

The outfits or uniforms for cheerleading are designed specifically to allow cheerleaders the ability to perform with full range of movement.  If an outfit is constraining the cheerleader will not be able to move as fluidly as needed and can impinge on the performance.

The ability to move is not the only factor involved with a cheerleading uniform; it must also be comfortable.  The cheerleader is in constant motion and an outfit that does not breathe or does not move with the individual can cause chaffing making the movements painful or uncomfortable.  The specially designed uniforms for cheerleaders will make each and every movement effortless and facilitate easy flow of all motions without discomfort.

Included in the design of the cheerleading uniforms are the cheerleading shoes!  The shoes of the cheerleader must be comfortably cushioned as well as having good traction and stability.  The cheerleader again is in constant motion with flips, leaps and technical movements and the stability and traction of the shoe as well as the comfort is essential in preventing injuries to the foot.

Beyond the specialized outfit and the best shoe, both which allow movement and protection from injury is the style.  Each cheerleading squad has its own unique look with the design of the uniform, the colors and the emblems that might be represented.  This allows the team to match and support the school or team they are representing.
